CONCLUSIONS

Big Question:
How can using Differentiated Instruction in the classroom engage students in the learning process?

Answer:
Teachers know their students come in different varieties and learn in different ways.  It has become imperative in today's 21st century world, to use this knowledge to tailor lessons and activities to engage all students.  There are a multitude of ways for teachers to do this and a simple internet search will gather thousands of resources and research for teachers to use in the classroom.  Through my coursework, it has become evident that differentiating instruction does keep students more engaged in the learning process.  Differentiation allows students to have choice and learn content in ways that are best for them.  Since students are able to learn in ways that work best for them and give them choice, they feel a sense of ownership and are more likely to be engaged in the learning process.

How has my identity evolved from my work?
Through this creative synthesis process, I have been able to learn different ways to integrate differentiation into my instruction so that all students in my classroom have an opportunity to learn in the best possible way that works for them.
